Designed for simultaneous heating and mixing of small samples, the VorTemp 56 features interchangeable platforms for microtubes and microplates. Both platforms are supplied with the unit. Temperature in the VorTemp 56 is adjustable over a broad range, making the unit useful for a variety of applications, including bacterial cultures in tubes and microplates. Mechanical convection provides a uniform and stable environment within the chamber. The VorTemp 56 may also be used in the cold room for subambient applications.


Shaking speed as well as acceleration rates are adjustable. Acceleration can be set to three different levels to protect delicate samples.


A microprocessor controls all parameters including temperature and timed operation. Self-diagnostic software continuously monitors the unit for proper temperature and shaking speed, alerting the user to any errors. Heating and shaking are controlled by feedback loops which precisely maintain chosen parameters, independent of load or voltage fluctuations.


The sturdy construction of the VorTemp 56 gives it stability during high speed shaking. The chamber is insulated to maintain temperature and reduce operating noise.

The new SureTemp Incubator series provides the highest level of temperature control with uniformity and stability levels that are unmatched by competitive models in the same class

Each incubator is equipped with the SureCheck data logging system for verification of chamber temperature. The SureCheck system records temperature data points as often as every 60 seconds and stores this information on a flash drive. The data can be viewed and saved using the included SureCheck software. The recorded data can also be used to plot temperature points on a graph or exported to a spread sheet program for verification or storage/record keeping.

STAT FAX 2200 Incubator/Mixer

The 2200 Incubator/Mixer is an economical combination incubator, timer, and shaker that
accommodates two standard microplates or strip trays. This microprocessor controlled instrument offers variable temperatures, times, and mixing speeds via the keypad. Incubation, timing, and mixing may also be used independently. A pulse mode is available. Temperatures may be set from room temperature to 40°C with a resolution of 0.1 degree. A smoke tint acrylic cover protects the plates, shields them from light, and insulates them during incubation. This unit is durably constructed with seamless welds and strong bracing. All SHEL LAB vacuum ovens are built with a stainless steel chamber for exceptional durability. We use solid brass vacuum valves with Teflon seats to prevent leaks. Our double plenum design meets CE safety requirements resulting in a cool outer surface.

The doors on these units have positive latch handles with spring-loaded glass to facilitate a good vacuum seal without hinge binds that shorten the gasket life. A selection of gaskets (for specific applications) and a small bench top footprint increase the versatility of these ovens.

SHEL LAB was the first to bring square vacuum ovens to the industry and we continue to offer innovative, top-of-the-line vacuum ovens. Our unique cross-flow ventilation forces inert gas to fill the entire chamber. To achieve required vacuum levels, users can choose from a 3/8 inch orifice or a KF25 fitting to withstand heavy use and minimize draw-down time. Maximum permitted end vacuum is 10 µ. Leak rate is 10 µ per hour.

The SHEL LAB Vacuum Ovens are equipped with silicone gaskets. While these gaskets resist a wide variety of temperatures and pressures, they can breakdown in the presence of solvents and acids. For solvent applications, we recommend using Buna gaskets. For acidic applications, we recommend using Fluorosilicone or Viton® gaskets.

The SHEL LAB Incubator Shakers provide a controlled environment for continuous growth of biological organisms. Market applications include microbiology, tissue culture, cell culture, and bacteriology. The SSI5 features our unique counter balance weighting system that is adjustable to accommodate off-center loads, varying capacities and stroke lengths, which in turn allows for smoother operation.
